What conditions can Acupuncture Treat?
Acupuncture is used to treat a variety of conditions, including pain; both musculoskeletal, GI, gynecological as well as emotional pain, anxiety and stress. Acupuncture aims to treat both the symptoms of pain as well as the underlying cause of pain. By providing Acupuncture and lifestyle recommendations, the goal is for each patient to be at in their best physical and emotional state to move freely through their life.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Before your first treatment, you should be hydrated and you should also have had something to eat during the day prior to your appointment. You may want to bring water for after your treatment to ensure that you are hydrated for the rest of the day.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothes such as shorts and a t-shirt, or pants that easily roll up past the knees.
What should I expect from my first session?
Acupuncture is based on a holistic approach to the body. Therefore all aspects of a person's health history are important to treatment and finding a root cause. At the initial session, patients will share their health history as well as in-depth information pertinent to the principal complaint/pain area.
After a health history is obtained, patients will begin their treatment on an acupuncture table. For those experiencing Acupuncture for the first time, a more in-depth walk through of the treatment will take place. We aim to make sure all questions are answered, and that each patient is comfortable with the process.
